One of the greatest challenges facing our New Zealand churches is a lack of training available for those called into the ministry.
The Bible clearly teaches that training is a vital part of the Great Commission. We begin to fulfill the Great Commission only when we are training servants and sending them out to replicate our local churches.

Timothy Baptist College exists to provide our churches with the means to train their people for the ministry.

Join with us in the joy of seeing people go out from your church to serve the Lord!

"A Conservative Baptist College With An Emphasis On Service"
Timothy Baptist College
Timothy Baptist College is a ministry of Rotorua Bible Baptist Church. It has been our vision to have a place where Christians from churches of like faith can be trained for the ministry, removing the need to go overseas for a proper education for ministry. We recognise the best option for those called into the ministry is to be trained in their own local church; however, we also recognise that some churches may not yet have the resources available to accomplish this task.

Timothy Baptist College is structured around a two-term year with classes offered February through June and July through November. All classes are offered in the evenings, allowing students more opportunities for secular employment. Timothy Baptist College is currently offering three-year degrees in Pastoral Ministry, Elementary Education and Secondary Education and also a two-year degree in Ministry (for ladies).

There is a small tuition required in addition to the cost of the textbooks.

Training Servants for the Saviour
Timothy Baptist College not only offers the necessary academic training for leaders in the ministry, but also exposure to a large variety of ministries through Rotorua Bible Baptist Church, giving the student practical, hands-on training in different aspects of the ministry. The students are required to be active in various church ministries as part of their training, and all students are required to participate in the evangelism ministries.

Ministries that the students will be exposed to include: discipleship, children's ministries, teen ministries, singles ministries, youth camp and music ministries.

We believe that the ministry is NOW, and those who believe that God has called them into full-time ministry should be serving the Lord to the fullest wherever they are.

Taking a Stand
Timothy Baptist College is an integral part of Rotorua Bible Baptist Church, not a separate entity. We believe strongly in the importance of the local church in God's program for this age. We only accept students from other independent Baptist churches with the approval from their pastor.

Timothy Baptist College takes a strong stand on the Baptist distinctives and the authority of God's Word as given in the King James Version of the Bible.

Rotorua Bible Baptist Church believes that music for worshipping the Lord must be spiritual, therefore only non-worldly, conservative music is used.

Timothy Baptist College believes in the entire plan of the great commission, therefore discipleship is an integral part of evangelism. We are opposed to Calvinism and a high-pressure approach to evangelism.

The mission of Timothy Baptist College is to train God's people for the ministry and see them go back to their local church for internship and final preparation.
